An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) I Can Hardly Wait, the 1943 Jules White World War II (WWII) dentist slapstick comedy short ("A Columbia Short Subject Presentation"; the Stooges are defense workers, and Curly has a toothache, and they go to the dentist, but Moe ends up getting his tooth pulled by mistake, but it's all a dream!) starring The Three Stooges (Moe Howard, Larry Fine, and Curly Howard), Lew Davis, Bud Jamison, and Adele Mara NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have previously auctioned a different example of this lobby card, and that was 9 years ago, when it sold for $852! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. What IS gelbacking? Learn More Condition: good to very good. The card had pinholes in the corners and creases in the top left blank corner. It had tape on the back of the left border, which was covering two 1/2" tears in the middle of the left border. It had a 2" tear in the bottom border that went just to the right of the "N" at the end of the tagline, and entered the very bottom of the image. It had some smudges around the edges. Overall, the card was in good to very good condition prior to restoration. A talented restorer gel backed the card (meaning they backed the card onto a gel material) and they then performed restoration to the above defects, and then removed the gel backing, so that the card still looks and feels like an original card (and it is!), with no backing at all. The restorer did a pretty good job on the restoration, but you can still see signs of the border defects and the repair of the tear near the center of the bottom border (see our super-sized images to get a good sense of exactly how the card looks now).
