Hamlet, the 1948 (released in the U.S. in 1949) Laurence Olivier (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) English Denmark royalty family relationship tragedy melodrama (winner of the Best Picture Academy Award; based on the play "by William Shakespeare") starring Laurence Olivier (winner of the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; in the title role as Hamlet), Eileen Herlie (as Gertrude), Basil Sydney, Felix Aylmer, Jean Simmons (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film; as Ophelia), Norman Wooland, Terence Morgan (as Laertes), Stanley Holloway, Peter Cushing, Esmond Knight, Anthony Quayle, Harcourt Williams, and John Laurie

Important Added Info: Note that this English one-sheet measures approximately 27" x 40" and is linenbacked.

Condition: good. This poster was NOT well restored. You can see signs of the restoration from a distance. This is a poster that would greatly benefit from additional professional restoration. See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!).

good. The poster had an extra foldline 1" below the regular bottom foldline and was folded in half an extra time. There were creases and tears along many foldlines. These are not as noticeable because of the linenbacking process, but they are still somewhat noticeable. This is a poster that would benefit from additional restoration (which could be done WITHOUT re-backing the poster).
