An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" Movie Still (Learn More)

Ellen Burstyn is an actress from the 1960s to the 2000s. She was 32 when she made her very first movie, and had one of the absolute slowest roads to stardom of anybody! She started as a dancer and model in the early 1950s, and she appeared on Broadway in 1957, but then only had TV roles until 1964. But it wasn't until 1971 when she was cast in The Last Picture Show (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film) that she finally had success, and she quickly followed it with The Exorcist (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film) in 1973, and Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; in the title role as Alice) in 1974. But oddly, as fast as success came to her, it also left her pretty quickly, and from the 1980s on, she has had limited success, although she has given some great performances, including in Resurrection (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), and Requiem For A Dream (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film). As of 2021, she is still alive at the age of 88!
Important Added Info: Note that this portrait still is from the movie "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore".
