What thrills what laughs what drama"; "From the stage play by Mary Roberts Rinehart and Avery Hopwood"; about a weird master criminal who wears a hooded costume and is known as "The Bat", and he hides out in an isolated large house in the country and kills one of the occupants and takes his place, and the police must discover who is really The Bat!) starring Chester Morris (in a dual role as Detective Anderson and The Bat!), Chance Ward, Una Merkel, Richard Tucker, and Wilson Benge. Note that this was a virtual remake of the 1926 silent movie, "The Bat", as it had pretty much the same plot. We have heard that the comic book character "Batman" was inspired by the lead character from this movie (although, of course, here he was a villain). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that first release 1930 movie posters from this United Artists movie are incredibly rare (typical of United Artists releases of this period, because soon after the first release, they would be re-released by other companies). We have never sold any original 1930 movie posters or lobby cards until we received this lobby card! Also note that this card has a stamp on the back that indicates it came from the legendary horror/sci-fi collection of Ron Borst (the stamp reads "FROM THE BORST COLLECTION")! Condition: good to very good. The card was folded in half. Someone put clear tape on the back of that fold. It was also glued to some sort of backing, and there is glue and paper residue scattered on the back. There is a paper clip stain in the left of the top border and some scuffs and smudges around the edges. Learn More about condition grades
