A Vintage Autographed Hardcover Book (measures 6 1/2" x 9 1/2" [17 x 24 cm]; 62 pages) (Learn More) Hank Ketcham (born "Henry King Ketcham") was cartoonist from the 1930s to the 1990s. He is best known for creating the Dennis the Menace comic strip, and he has also done work on Walt Disney cartoons including Pinocchio, Fantasia, and Bambi. The National Cartoonists Society awarded him with the "Reuben Award" in 1953. He passed away in 2001 at the age of 81. Important Added Info: Note that this book has been personally autographed (signed) by Hank Ketcham! Our consignor is a longtime collector who purchased this signed item from a reputable dealer. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. Also note that we have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: fair. The spine of the book is separating by the edge of the front cover. Someone had a newspaper clipping inside the book on the page with the signature and self portrait and they have darkened considerably (see our images).
