eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result f381 GLOBAL AFFAIR linen one-sheet movie poster '64 Bob Hope, Yvonne De Carlo Date Sold 2/7/2006Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) A Global Affair (released in other English-speaking countries as "Papa Playboy"), the 1964 Jack Arnold romantic comedy ("Girls of all nations want closer relations - in fact they want to be the mother of my child!"; "Bob's on the road to paternity... And the global girls want to show him the way!"; "Soviet Sonya: She won't take 'Nyet' for an answer!"; "Lovely Lisette finds Bob a soft touch!"; "A Japanese doll gets Bob in hot water!"; "Dolores shows it takes two to tangle!"; "Bob gets a taste of French pastry!") starring Bob Hope, Liselotte Pulver (billed as "Lilo Pulver as Sonya"), (and "co-starring as 'The Global Girls'") Michele Mercier, Elga Andersen, Yvonne De Carlo, Miiko Taka, Robert Sterling, Nehemiah Persoff, John McGiver, Jacques Bergerac, Mickey Shaughnessy, and Adlai Stevenson (U.S. politician as a "passerby"). Note that there are two versions of the one-sheet. Both posters are almost exactly the same, except for the credits at bottom left. On one, Lilo Pulver is identified simply as one of the "Global Girls", whereas on the other, she gets a larger separate credit that says "Lilo Pulver as Sonya"! No doubt, this was the result of some kind of contractual agreement Lilo Pulver had, which caused them to change her billing. Technically, I would say that the first poster described above is the very first release, while the second is a "revised" one-sheet, but I doubt many collectors would care about this distinction. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). Note that we gave this condition grade to a very few posters that were in pretty good condition prior to linenbacking, but which were not all that well linenbacked, and which could be fairly easily re-backed with only minor additional restoration. The poster had minor wear in the center half of the vertical foldline. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, and looks great!
