An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Is Conan Doyle Right?, the 1923 John Joseph Harvey silent Spiritualism expose documentary short ("Can the dead talk to the living?"; "See this Spiritualistic sensation!"; "Have you ever seen a spirit? Have you ever sat in the circle of 'black magic'? Can spirits write on slates and foretell your future?"; about the religious movement based on the belief that the spirits of the dead exist and have both the ability and the inclination to communicate with the living). Note that the title refers to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who gained an interest in the concept in the late 1880s and this was strengthen by the deaths of friends and family during World War I (WWI). He wrote at least 3 books dealing with Spiritualism and gave talks about his beliefs until his death in 1930. IMDB has no credits so we are unsure if an actor portrayed Conan Doyle, or if he was actually interviewed, or if just images of him were shown. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper items from this movie are incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned two different scene cards from this movie (and NO other movie paper) until we received this scene card (we are also currently auctioning a title card in a separate auction)! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good to fine. There is a small tape repair on the back of the top left corner. Otherwise, the card is in nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
