An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) 45 Fathers (Forty Five Fathers), the 1937 James Tinling juvenile-orphan-adopted-by-rich-bachelors screwball comedy ("45 millionaires sign up as her guardians... and then shout for someone to protect THEM!"; "I may be a ventriloquist's dummy, but this is the funniest picture you've ever seen!"; "It's the funniest Jane Withers picture you've ever seen.... even a dummy knows that!"; "Please adopt me!"; "Based on a story by Mary Bickel"; about a teen girl whose parents die, and 45 millionaire bachelors become her joint guardians; they try to make her a "lady" at a fancy dance, but she befriends a married couple who are down and out vaudeville performers who are skilled at both ventriloquism and comic dancing and before the dance the couple teaches her to throw her voice while dancing; and she throws the dance into an uproar when she makes it seem like all the other dancers are saying outrageous things!) starring Jane Withers, Thomas Beck, Louise Henry, The Hartmans, Richard Carle, and Nella Walker. Note that "The Hartmans" were a couple of real life vaudevillians who were "eccentric ventriloquists and famed Broadway satirists of the dance", and this part in this, their first film, was surely written for them. But they never appeared in another movie, and we could find no more information about them, not even their names! If anyone knows more about them, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
