An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) King Creole, the 1958 Michael Curtiz New York City Coney Island tough-kid-leaves-the-slums-but-can't-escape-his-past rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) musical (based on the novel 'A Stone for Danny Fisher' by Harold Robbins) starring Elvis Presley (as Danny Fisher), Carolyn Jones, Walter Matthau, Dolores Hart, Dean Jagger, Vic Morrow, Liliane Montevecchi, and Paul Stewart. Note that this was the fourth of four movies that Elvis made before he went into the Army in 1958. He made no movies in 1959, and the public so wanted to see one that Paramount gave this movie and Loving You a full scale double-bill re-release just one and two years after they were made, with new posters for each, and the tagline "Elvis Presley back on the screen for the first time in a year"! There are several pairs of staple holes around the edges of the still with some torn or enlarged from rough removal and repaired with tape from the back.
