Like a bomb?") starring James Dean ("The star sensation of 'East of Eden'!"), Natalie Wood (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Sal Mineo (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Jim Backus, Edward Platt, Dennis Hopper (in a bit part as one of the "goons"), Ann Doran, Corey Allen, William Hopper, Jack Grinnage, Frank Mazzola, and Ian Wolfe NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster was never folded. It had some smudges and scuffs scattered throughout the image, with a 2" L-shaped tear near the center of Dean's sleeve. There were creases scattered in the title area. There was an uneven 8" tear in the lower right border extending into the "SE" of "CAUSE" in the title. There were many creases and small tears around the edges, with creases below the bottom left of the central image, in the yellow background area. There was a 7" tear in the upper left border that extended into the blue background. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was backed onto linen with no excess, and either the backer did not do a proper job, or the poster was roughly handled, or both, because there is now cracking in the restoration paint around the edges, especially in the tear at lower right that extends into the end of the title. It is also slightly "lifting" from the linen in the bottom left corner. In spite of these defects, the poster could be displayed just as it is, or certainly, additional restoration could be performed (with or without re-backing the poster), but bear these defects in mind before placing a bid on this very cool poster.
