A 'sometimes' sweetheart, a gang-lord of the Golden Gate! The blistering story of a fall-guy who got up - just in time!"; "You'd been framed -- You'd been two-timed. Now you had to stand up -- or be a fall guy!"; "It was time to get even -- or get killed!"; "The brass-knuckled story of one man's vengeance against the San Francisco Bay-Front Mob!"; "Actually filmed in San Francisco in CinemaScope and WarnerColor"; about an ex-cop who is released from San Quentin and sets out to find the mobster who framed him for manslaughter) starring Alan Ladd ("A fall guy who got up..."), Edward G. Robinson ("Gang-lord of the Golden Gate..."), Joanne Dru ("She went one guy too far..."), William Demarest, Paul Stewart, Perry Lopez, and Fay Wray NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: SUPER IMPORTANT! THOUGH ONLY EIGHT OF THE STILLS ARE PICTURED, THE HIGH BIDDER ON THIS LOT WILL RECEIVE 12 STILLS FROM THIS MOVIE (but realize that on some of these lots with 9 or more stills there may be a few duplicates, mostly on post-1960 lots)! We realize there is an element of gambling to this, but we made only a small effort to find the best stills in these lots, and, if you have any willingness to gamble at all, you may find that you get some great stills that were not pictured! Please do NOT bid on this lot unless you can accept that you are only seeing eight of the stills. Note that these stills appear in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right of each still. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the stills were printed for use in areas that included French-speaking parts of Canada, but that they WERE printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us! So they are original stills from 1956, but they were printed partially for use in French-speaking Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
