An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Desire Me, the 1947 George Cukor (who was so disappointed with the production of this movie, he had his name taken off of all credits; this was the first movie MGM ever released without a director's credit) post-World War II (WWII) romantic melodrama ("From a Novel by Leonhard Frank"; about a married French couple held prisoner in a Nazi camp in World War II; they make a good male friend in the camp, and the husband is killed, and the friend comes to his widow to tell her the news, and does not know how to tell her that he loves her and wants to make a new life with her) starring Greer Garson (billed as "Greer Garson's great in M-G-M's 'Desire Me'"), Robert Mitchum, Richard Hart, Morris Ankrum, and George Zucco NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: fair to good. The poster had tears in the center of the middle horizontal fold, with one long tear extending down into the "G" of "Garson". There was a 4" irregular tear in the right of the middle of the poster, in the background to the right of Garson's neck. There were long tears in the top and bottom right of the poster and some long tears in the bottom center. There were some areas of paper loss in the borders. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer linenbacked the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
