Which will win?") starring Godzilla, Mothra, Ebirah (a giant lobster), Akira Takarada, Kumi Mizuno, Toru Watanabe, Hideo Sunazuka, and Chotaro Togin If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This Japanese export poster measures approximately 29" x 40 1/2" and is linenbacked. Condition: good. This poster was linenbacked, but it had fairly significant defects that were corrected during the linenbacking process, and they are somewhat noticeable even from a distance. Some collectors could accept these defects and display this poster as is, and others would want additional professional restoration before they would display it. You can tell more about what defects this poster had and how good the restoration was by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). There was a silver dollar-sized circular hole in both the top left and the top right of the image area in the sky backgrounds. There was a similar hole in the middle right of the edge of the image and one in the lower left of the image. There was some paper loss in the letter of the title. There were tears, creases, and small paper loss along the foldlines and pinholes around the edges. The poster was fairly well backed, but you can see signs of where the large holes were re-painted, even from a distance away. Note that sometime after linenbacking, the poster was roughly handled and there are now creases down the right edge of the poster. The creases are in the excess linen, not in the poster itself.
