An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Gore Vidal's Myra Breckinridge, the 1970 Michael Sarne bizarre sex-change comedy ("Everything you've heard about Myra Breckinridge is true!"; "At last, the book that couldn't be written is now the motion picture that couldn't be made!"; "Mae West is Leticia Van Allen. John Huston is Buck Loner. Raquel Welch is Myra Breckinridge. [Rex Reed is Myron.]"; based on the novel by Gore Vidal) starring Mae West, John Huston, Raquel Welch (in the title role as Myra Breckinridge), Rex Reed (billed as "introducing Rex Reed"), Farrah Fawcett (in her first American movie after a French film and some TV appearances), Roger Herren, Calvin Lockhart, John Carradine, Jim Backus, and Tom Selleck (in his first movie appearance, as an unbilled "Stud"!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). There were tiny holes at the crossfolds and some tiny tears and scuffs on some foldlines. There were some scuff marks in the solid black background at the middle left of the image. The person who restored the poster did a good job of touching up the above basically minor defects. Overall, the poster looks nice, and the restoration is only noticeable from inches away.
