An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded German "A0" Movie Poster (33x47; measures 33" x 47" [84 x 119 cm]) (Learn More) Die Maske Fallt (literally translates to "The Costume Falls"), the 1931 William Dieterle German flood disaster melodrama (about a cafe underneath the Mississippi River, and there is a major flood, trapping a group of very different people inside the cafe!) starring Lissy Arna, Anton Pointner, Karl Etlinger, Carla Bartheel, and Leon Janney. Note that this is the German version of Warner Bros. "The Way of All Men" that was shot in Hollywood in 1930 with Douglas Fairbanks Jr., Dorothy Revier, and Noah Beery Sr., in the lead roles. This movie was filmed at the same time with the same sets, but with an entirely different German speaking cast, and it was not released until a year later. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Lapiner Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare "country of origin" poster for this German movie! We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning (nor auctioned any other German movie paper for this film). "Pre-War" movie posters from Germany are virtually nonexistent (it seems likely that most were destroyed during the huge paper shortages that occurred during World War II). As is typical of pre-World War II German posters, the poster has a seal in the printing near one corner which gives the date of "19 JAN 1931")! Condition: good to very good. The poster has some darkening, tiny tears and a few stains on parts of the folds with some tiny paper loss on parts of the crossfolds. Learn More about condition grades
