An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Mexican Movie Poster (measures 27 1/4" x 37" [69 x 94 cm]) (Learn More)

Abismos de Pasion (literally translates to "Abyss of Passion"), the 1954 Luis Bunuel Mexican doomed-romance romantic love triangle melodrama starring Irasema Dilian (as Catalina, the substitute Catherine), Jorge Mistral (as Alexjandro, the substitute Heathcliff), Lilia Prado, Ernesto Alonso, Francisco Reiguera, Hortensia Santovena, Jaime Gonzalez Quinones, and Luis Aceves Castaneda. Note that director Luis Bunuel took the basic plot of Emily Bronte's "Wuthering Heights", and transferred it to Mexico, and gave the characters Mexican names, but otherwise, he pretty much followed the book!
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Artist: Juan Antonio Vargas Ocampo
Important Added Info: Note that Distribuidora Mexicana de Peliculas was a company that co-produced films and also distributed them within the Mexican territory. Mexican movies were distributed abroad by other companies, like Columbia Pictures (which not only promoted Mexican films in the United States, but worldwide except in Mexico). This particular poster (with the Vargas artwork) was for the original Mexican release. Note also that this is a "country of origin" poster for this Mexican movie!

Condition: good to very good. The poster has a few pinholes around the edges and some minor crossfold separation. It is otherwise in pretty good condition and after a simple linenbacking the poster will look great!
