An Original 1996 (from the first theatrical release in Japan) Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Japanese "B1" Movie Poster (29x41; measures 28 1/2" x 40 1/2") (Learn More)

Sympathy for the Devil (released in other English-speaking countries as "One Plus One"), the 1968 (premiered in the U.S. in April 1969, and widely distributed in the U.S. in 1970) Jean-Luc Godard English rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) blues music documentary (about counter-culture in the late 1960s) featuring the Rolling Stones (Mick Jagger, Brian Jones, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Bill Wyman), Anne Wiazemsky, Iain Quarrier, Clifton Jones, and Danny Daniels. Note that the producers of this film deleted 11 minutes, added footage of the Rolling Stones performing the title song, and changed the title (from One Plus One) without telling Godard. When Godard discovered this, he punched a producer during a talk at London's National Film Theatre. We have also found reference on the Internet to the U.S. distributor of the movie further changing it prior to its U.S. release in 1969, but we are not certain if this is correct. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster has no identifying Japanese writing anywhere on it, and the only writing on it is in English. However, the poster is exactly the same size and is on a similar paper as that of some other Japanese posters, which are on a heavier stock (and this is not a size that we are aware was ever used for U.S. posters), so therefore we believe this is a Japanese poster. If anyone knows otherwise, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this is a rare Japanese "B1" poster that measures 28 1/2" x 40 1/2"! "B1" posters are FAR more rare than "B2" posters (which measure approximately 20" x 28 1/2"), and because they are larger (similar in size to a U.S. one-sheet), they are more impressive when displayed on a wall!

Condition: very good.
