An Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe 7 1/2" x 9 3/4" [19 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Dancing Mothers, the 1926 Herbert Brenon silent Roaring Twenties family relationship romantic melodrama ("From the play by Edgar Selwyn and Edmund Goulding"; about an older couple with a teenage daughter who spends her time dancing at nightclubs with her friends, and her father goes there as well; the mother can't understand why they do this, until she is urged to try it herself, and when she does, it shocks her husband and daughter) starring Conway Tearle, Alice Joyce, Clara Bow (as "Kittens" Westcourt), Norman Trevor, and Leila Hyams NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this great still (and two others we are currently auctioning) has a most unusual provenance. Our consignor's father worked at Paramount Studios between 1925 and 1927, and he was given a number of deluxe stills (and a few regular ones) from then-current films, and he kept them all the years since, and now they have been consigned to us! We have taken the very best three stills that he had (portraits of Louise Brooks, W.C. Fields, and Clara Bow), and put them in this September Major Auction, and we will have many of the other individual stills in our next auction of single stills, which begins on September 10th. This is a wonderful opportunity to acquire these extremely rare stills (and other than some of them measuring under 8x10, which likely occurred prior to them being distributed, they are in quite nice condition, especially considering their age). First release movie paper from this Clara Bow movie (especially anything showing her) is extremely rare (we have only previously auctioned a one-sheet and a single still that did not picture Bow). Also note that this still measures 7 1/2" x 9 3/4" [19 x 25 cm], but it has not been trimmed. Also note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock. Condition: very good to fine. The still measures 7 1/2" x 9 3/4", but it has not been trimmed.
