An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Autographed Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) House of Horrors (released in Australia as "The Sinister Shadow"), the 1946 Jean Yarbrough Universal horror thriller ("Meet the Creeper!") starring Bill Goodwin, Robert Lowery, Virginia Grey, Martin Kosleck, Alan Napier, Joan Fulton, Rondo Hatton ("as The Creeper"), and Byron Foulger. Note that Rondo Hatton was afflicted with acromegaly, which is a chronic disease marked by enlargement of the bones of the extremities, face, and jaw. Hollywood saw in Hatton the chance to make money by exploiting the way the disease had distorted his features, and for several years prior to his death, he was a villain in several Universal horror movies. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been personally autographed (signed) by Martin Kosleck! Our consignor is a longtime collector who purchased this signed item from a reputable dealer. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. Note that we have never before auctioned this first release half-sheet! We are also currently auctioning a 1952 re-release half-sheet (which we have only auctioned once before) in a separate auction. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good.
