An Original 1934 (from the first release of this movie in the U.K.) Vintage Theatrical Folded English Six-Sheet (called a 12sh in England) Movie Poster (6sh; measures 77 1/4" x 87 1/4" [196 x 222 cm]) (Learn More) Son of Kong, the 1933 Ernest B. Schoedsack fantasy horror action adventure thriller sequel ("Laughs! Thrills! Pathos!"; "New Thrills! New Adventure! New Romance!"; note that King Kong was SO successful that RKO rushed out a very rare same-year sequel, but they made Kong's son a smaller size than his father ["only" 12 feet tall], perhaps because that made filming easier) starring Robert Armstrong (reprising his role as Carl Denham from the previous King Kong), Helen Mack, Frank Reicher, John Marston, Victor Wong, and Edward Brady NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this poster (or any English poster from this movie), and of course, first release movie paper of any kind from this movie is extremely rare. Also note that when the movie was first released in the U.S., much of the advertising did not show the Son of Kong, but he is prominently depicted on this English six-sheet (very comically, advertising his own movie, with a sandwich sign!). Also note that this English six-sheet was printed in 6 sections designed to overlap, and when combined, the poster measures 77 1/4" x 87 1/4" [196 x 222 cm]. Condition: good to very good. There is a foreign stamp in the bottom left of the title rectangle and a faint one in the top left yellow background area. The poster was attached to a wall with some sort of tacks, and there are holes and stains around the edges and within the image in some areas (see our image for exactly where these are). There are also some remnants of a snipe that was glued to the poster. But it is generally all there and most of the defects are in the borders or blank background areas, so it will be relatively easy to correct those during a simple linenbacking.
