But she's lovely... And he loves it!"; "Original story by Robert Pirosh and Joseph Schrank"; very similar to "The Lady Eve" which had been made the year before, also with Henry Fonda; about a man looking to buy a boat, and a pair of grifters think he is a rich man, and they get a beautiful young sales clerk to help them con him, but of course, the girl really falls in love with him) starring Henry Fonda, Gene Tierney, Laird Cregar, Shepperd Strudwick (billed as "John Shepperd"), Henry Stephenson, and Spring Byington NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had paper loss at the middle crossfold and small paper loss at the other two crossfolds. There were extra horizontal folds by the top and bottom foldlines, and there were some small areas of paper loss in between those folds. There were tears and tiny areas of paper loss on parts of the rest of the foldlines. There were scuffs scattered in the solid black areas and many creases, tears, and small areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, but not that much restoration was done (and some of it has diminished over the years), and from close up, you can clearly see all of the above defects, but from any reasonable viewing distance, the poster still displays pretty well. But please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its defects described above or are willing to pay to have further restoration. Note that the restorer left a tiny bit of excess linen around all four sides of the poster (they left a small border in order to protect the poster from handling damage, but they did not leave a larger border, to allow it to more easily fit in a frame).
