Artist: Erik Frederiksen Important Added Info: Note that the art on this program is signed "Erik F.". The artist's full name is Erik Frederiksen, and we have been told by a Danish poster expert that he not only drew movie posters in Denmark in the 1930s but he also drew travel posters. We had never seen any art by this artist prior to discovery of a group of Danish posters we auctioned in 2009, and it appears that few Danish collectors or dealers had seen them either, because all of the posters sold for quite high prices, and there was much competitive bidding for each one! Certainly he must be regarded as one of the premier poster artists of the 1930s, but he is not known today, likely because of the extreme scarcity of his posters. Also note that we have never before auctioned this Danish program! Also note that we have pictured the front and back covers and an interior 2-page spread from this program. Condition: good. The program was once in a bound volume and there is tiny paper loss in several places in the spine, where it was once attached to the bound volume. It also appears to have been slightly trimmed to fit the bound volume (surely at the top, but perhaps in the other two borders as well). Learn More about condition grades
