An Original Vintage Unfolded Chinese Poster (measures 15 1/2" x 21" [39 x 53 cm]) (Learn More) Mao Zedong (Mao Tse-tung) was a Chinese Communist revolutionary and politician from the 1940s to the 1970s. He was the head of the revolution that led to the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, leading the country until until he passed away in 1976 at the age of 82. His book, "Quotations from Chairman Mao Tse-tung" (known in the West as "The Little Red Book") was first published in 1964, and some sources say it sold 6.5 billion copies (but no one can say for sure, although virtually every Chinese citizen had to have a copy during the 1960s!). If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have seen modern reproductions of Chinese political and propaganda posters which are printed on modern paper stock (which is sometimes artificially "aged"). While the paper stock used for this poster is not modern like the reproductions, we cannot say for certain that it is from the date mentioned in the Auction Title. Please keep this uncertainty in mind when bidding. Condition: very good to fine. Learn More about condition grades
