Avildsen (winner of the Best Director Academy Award for this film) Philadelphia Pennsylvania boxing sports action romantic melodrama ("His whole life was a million-to-one shot."; "Written by Sylvester Stallone"; winner of the Best Picture Academy Award; produced by Irwin Winkler) starring Sylvester Stallone (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; in the title role as Rocky Balboa), Talia Shire (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film; as Adrian), Burt Young (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Carl Weathers (as Apollo Creed), Burgess Meredith (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; "as Mickey"), and Butkus Stallone (as Butkus the dog!). Note this film was released late in 1976 and all of the first release U.S. posters have a 1977 NSS number on them.

Important Added Info: Note that the last time we auctioned an example of this poster it sold for $422!

Condition: fair to good. There are several areas of discoloration scattered throughout, with some area appearing to have mold or mildew (especially at bottom - see our image). There is a tear at upper right. There are several pieces of tape on back (not put there for any restoration purpose). After proper restoration the poster will display well, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it.
