If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have previously auctioned one example of the style B half-sheet (which sold for $1,666), but we have never before auctioned this style A half-sheet! Also note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. Note that because this poster was paperbacked onto a thicker paper backing, it CAN'T be sent rolled (someone could conceivably roll it or try to do so, but we know it would definitely lessen its condition, so we will only send it in a very large flat package, unless the buyer insists, and then they would be responsible for any damage). What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. Prior to paperbacking, the poster had darkened somewhat, typical of Warner Bros. half-sheets of this period. It had many smudges and scuffs scattered throughout, with some partial vertical creases. It had an 11" tear in the lower left border that extended unevenly through the yellow background below Davis' chin and into her fingers. There was a 3" tear in the upper right border that extended into the yellow background. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to paperbacking. Someone paperbacked the poster with minimal restoration, mostly focusing on the tears. The restoration and the many creases and scuffs are still quite noticeable, so bear all of this in mind before bidding on this extremely rare poster. Learn More about condition grades
