Note that this movie was first announced by Republic Pictures in 1950, starring John Wayne, but for various reasons, the movie was never made at that time. Finally, Wayne was able to get it made (with himself as the director) a full decade later! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Giorgio Olivetti Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The restorer who linenbacked the poster did not have a single piece of linen large enough to linenback the poster on a single piece of linen, so they first joined two pieces of linen together (slightly overlapping them, similar in the way a multi-panel poster is overlapped), and then they linenbacked the poster on to the combined linen. It has no effect on the poster, other than that you can see the "join" on the back of the center of the poster. The poster had darkening on several foldlines (typical of Italian posters of this period), and it is most noticeable in the blank borders and light background areas. There was some tiny paper loss at some crossfolds and some creases and tears on some foldlines. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
