eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 4t667 NEVER TOO LATE pressbook '35 artwork of Richard Talmadge, pretty Thelma White! Date Sold 4/16/2009Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 11 1/2" x 17 1/2"; 4 pages) (Learn More) Never Too Late, the 1935 Bernard B. Ray (billed as "Franklin Shamray") romantic crime action thriller ("A Panorama of Thrills, A Storm of Swift Action, plus A Golden Romance") starring Richard Talmadge, Thelma White, Robert Frazer, Mildred Harris Vera Lewis, Robert Walker, George Chesebro (billed as "Geo. Chesbro"), Bull Montana, and Paul Ellis. Note that Richard Talmadge was born "Sylvester Alphonse Metz", and he was an acrobat with the Barnum and Bailey Circus. He got a job in Hollywood as a stuntman for Douglas Fairbanks Sr., and then graduated to starring in movies, always performing lots of stunts. He had two acrobat brothers, Otto Metzetti and Victor Metz, who appeared with him in some of his movies. Note that the Robert Walker credited above was NOT the Robert Walker who starred in the 1940s and 1950s, but a different Robert Walker who started making movies in 1913, and he appeared in an amazing 255 movies through 1953, a 40 year span, but most of those were westerns, and a lot of them were very minor roles, often uncredited. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this pressbook was folded across the center at one time. Because of this, this pressbook can be sent in one of our standard size packages (if it is purchased together with pressbooks that can NOT be folded, then it will of course have to be sent in one of our oversized packages). But if this pressbook is purchased by itself (or solely with other pressbooks that can be folded), then the shipping will be much lower, because it fits in a standard package. Condition: good to very good, NO CUTS. There is a small sticker in Talmadge's credit on the front cover and there is a note stapled on the inside as well as some underlining and notes written throughout the pressbook. Note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of the pressbook, plus an image of any supplements or heralds (if there are any included with this pressbook), but of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are selling (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Also note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners purchased pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut!
