An Original Vintage Tri-Folded Billboard Advertising Poster (measures approximately 9' x 20') (Learn More) Utica Club, the billboard advertising poster encouraging people to buy Utica Club beer and ale. Note that Matt Brewing Company (formerly F.X. Matt Brewing Company) is a family-owned brewery in Utica, New York. It is the fourth oldest family-owned brewery in the United States, having brewed beer since 1888. Its most popular product is the Saranac line of beers which includes Utica Club beer. During Prohibition, the company stayed afloat by producing soft drinks under the label Utica Club. After the end of Prohibition, Utica Club became the name of the brewery's flagship beer, promoted during the 1950s and 1960s by two beer steins, Schultz and Dooley, voiced by Jonathan Winters. The brewery became popular throughout the Northeast based on Utica Club and its current flagship beer, Saranac. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this billboard poster was printed in 12 sections designed to overlap. Also note this poster was folded in a way that makes it resemble a tri-folded six-sheet (only much larger, of course, as there are more sections). But the length and width of the folded poster is just about the same as that of a folded six-sheet or three-sheet. This means that this poster needs to be sent in an oversized flat package, which will measure roughly 16" x 38", and approximately 2" high, and it will cost more to send than a regular sized package.
UPDATED 12/12/2016: Note that we have updated the Important Added Info section. Condition: good. There is staining, tears, and small paper loss in the sections that form the left of the image. There are some scattered small areas of paper loss along some folds in the rest of the poster, which otherwise is in pretty good condition considering its age and size. Please look at our super-sized image to get a sense of the exact condition of this poster, and do not bid on it thinking it is in better condition than it is. Still, it is surely an incredibly rare poster, and perhaps the only surviving example. One would prefer to find a much better condition one, but that might not be an option!
