An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Torch Singer, the 1933 Alexander Hall & George Somnes unwed mother romantic love triangle melodrama ("When she was good, she was very, very good - and she is bad and she's TORRID!"; about a young woman who becomes pregnant out of wedlock, and she puts the child up for adoption and becomes a nightclub singer, and becomes very successful, but can't forget what she did) starring Claudette Colbert, Ricardo Cortez, David Manners, Lyda Roberti, Baby LeRoy, Sam Godfrey, Charley Grapewin, and Mildred Washington (as Colbert's maid, but also her confidant). Note that "torch singers" became popular around this time, and they were female nightclub singers who sang mournful ballads in a bluesy fashion. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
