An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) Romance in the Dark, the 1938 H.C. Potter romantic love triangle musical ("Based on the play 'The Yellow Nightingale' by Hermann Bahr"; "A gay continental love story!"; "Glorious singing!"; about a male opera star who sees a young opera singer at a competition, and he tells her to 'look him up' if she gets to where he lives, but then when she does, he ignores her, because he is romancing a countess, and she manages to get a job as a maid in his house!) starring Gladys Swarthout, John Boles, John Barrymore, Claire Dodd, Fritz Feld, and Curt Bois. Note that Gladys Swarthout was a real life Metropolitan Opera star, and Paramount built this movie around her singing. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: fine. This glass slide is in really excellent condition, and we feel that EVERY collector would be happy to own it. It IS possible it may have a MINOR defect or defects, but nothing at all significant. But we bet many dealers would call items in this grade "mint" or "near mint"! Learn More about condition grades
