Date Sold 2/18/2016Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Tri-Folded Billboard Advertising Poster (measures approximately 9' x 20') (Learn More) Nash Airflyte was a model of automobile sold by Nash Motors from 1949 to 1954. The Airflyte was the first car of an advanced design introduced by the company after the World War II. Theories on reducing automobile body drag resulted in a smooth shape and enclosed front fenders. A popular advertising slogan featured a depressed man saying "And I could have gotten a Nash Airflyte". Nash Motors was based in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and pioneered important innovations such as a heating and ventilation system (which is still used today) in 1938, unibody construction in 1941, seat belts in 1950, a U.S. built compact car in 1950, and muscle cars in 1957 Artist: Howard Scott Important Added Info: Note that this billboard poster was printed in 14 sections designed to overlap. Also note this poster was folded in a way that makes it resemble a tri-folded six-sheet (only much larger, of course, as there are more sections). But the length and width of the folded poster is just about the same as that of a folded six-sheet or three-sheet. This means that this poster needs to be sent in an oversized flat package, which will measure roughly 16" x 38", and approximately 2" high, and it will cost more to send than a regular sized package. Note that this item needs to be shipped in an oversized flat package. If it is a size that might ordinarily be rolled in a tube (like a half-sheet), the reason it is in this auction is specifically because we feel it either CAN'T be rolled or because we feel it would be a mistake to roll it, because it might well damage the item. In the case of the few items that could be rolled, we will roll the item in a tube if the new owner insists, but only if they accept that they can't return the item if it is damaged from being rolled. So please bear in mind that this item must be sent in a LARGE flat package (the size of the package will depend on the size of the item), and bear this added expense in mind before placing a bid on it. Condition: good. There is spotty discoloration scattered in several areas of the poster from exposure to moisture. The foldlines and edges are in generally nice condition. Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid. Learn More about condition grades
