The company was founded by Isaac M. Singer and Edward C. Clark. Singer created the first practical sewing machines for general domestic use, and by 1860 his company was the largest manufacturer of sewing machines in the world. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning! Also note that this poster is printed on a much heavier than usual paper and it is nailed to boards so it is much heavier than a regular poster. Please bear this in mind before bidding. Condition: fair to good. The poster is printed on a very heavy material and it is nailed to white boards at top and bottom (see above). It has scuffing and staining throughout and it has darkened. It has some edge defects (see our image). Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this heavy poster prior to placing a bid and please do not bid unless you can accept the defects described above, or you are willing to pay to have them properly restored.
