An Original Vintage Linenbacked World War I Recruiting Poster (measures 40 1/4" x 58 3/4" [102 x 149 cm]) (Learn More) U.S. Navy Over There, the 1917 U.S. World War I (WWI) Home Front military recruitment poster encouraging men to join the United States Navy, and featuring Albert Sterner art of a sailor holding a billowing U.S. flag as the figure of Columbia (an early symbol of the United States) holds a sword and points across the sea. Artist: Albert Sterner Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had small paper loss at the middle crossfold, with minor wear on the foldlines. It had triangular paper loss in the bottom left corner, extending slightly into the solid black and orange areas. There were tears and small paper loss in the other three blank corners.
