An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More)

The Mill Girl, the 1907 silent factory-life melodrama short starring Florence Lawrence and Hector Dion. Note that almost all of the earliest known standard movie poster one-sheets date from 1909 and 1910. Around 15 years ago, a tiny number of different 1907 one-sheets were discovered, and this is one of those posters! The poster is slightly different from the 1909 and later posters in that it has six scenes from the movie, and it measures 29" x 41", but it certainly qualifies as a "one-sheet" in the current meaning, and is one of the very earliest ones known (and of course, since the poster has "Copyright 1907 by The Vitagraph Co.", there seems to be no possibility that it is not from this year). Note that this was star Florence Lawrence's 7th movie (out of the nearly 300 she made). Two years after this movie was made, she became extremely famous as the very first actress to receive star billing on a movie poster (or so legend has it), and supposedly, people everywhere saw her name and began asking if the theater had any "Florence Lawrence" movies, and thus the Hollywood star system began, where recognizeable actors and actresses could command higher and higher salaries, because the public liked them and wanted to see their movies. She did many movies for the Biograph company and became known as "The Biograph Girl"

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this one-sheet measures 29" x 41". Please do not bid on this poster thinking it is 27" x 41".

Condition: very good to fine. There is 9" of clean separation at the bottom of the vertical foldline and there are creases and tears around the edges of the poster, but overall, it is in pretty nice condition, especially considering it is over 100 years old!
