An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Insert Movie Poster (measures 12 1/4" x 34" [31 x 86 cm]) (Learn More) George White's Scandals, the 1934 Thornton Freeland, Harry Lachman & George White musical comedy revue ("Musical numbers under direction of Harry Lachman"; "Entire production conceived, created and directed by George White"; there was a framing story of a backstage romance between an actor an an actress, but that took second place to a series of song and dance numbers by top performers of the day who worked for Fox) starring Rudy Vallee, Jimmy Durante, Alice Faye, Adrienne Ames, Gregory Ratoff, Cliff Edwards, Scotty Beckett, Margaret Hamilton, George White, and Dorothea Kent. Note that this movie was made right at the time of the beginning of the Production Code, and some of the songs caused problems for Fox, including Alice Faye's "Nasty Man", and "Your Dog Loves My Dog" by Rudy Vallee, Alice Faye, Jimmy Durante, and Dixie Dunbar! We have only auctioned two examples of this poster before. This poster originally sold in 2010 and now it has been reconsigned to us for this auction, and the other example (in "poor" condition) sold in 2011 and it was reconsigned in 2012. Note also that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 12 1/4" x 34" [31 x 86 cm]. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: fair. The insert was folded across the middle and its blank borders were mostly trimmed off. It is heavily stained on the back and scattered stains show through to the front. There are tack holes scattered down the center of the poster, including one in Faye's temple and one in the bridge of Vallee's nose.
