a lot of 8 unfolded single-sided one-sheets from Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence, the 1983 Nagisa Oshima English/Japanese World War II (WWII) prisoner of war (POW) military melodrama ("Java, 1942 - a clash of cultures, a test of the human spirit."; "Based on the Novel by Sir Laurens Van Der Post"; "Screenplay by Nagisa Oshima with Paul Mayersberg") starring David Bowie, Tom Conti (in the title role as Colonel John Lawrence), Ryuichi Sakamoto, Takeshi Kitano (billed as "Takeshi"), Jack Thompson, and Nagisa Ohshima. IMPORTANT! The lot contains 8 identical posters, so we have only pictured one, but the winner of this auction receives all 8 posters!
