An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Australian Daybill Movie Poster (measures approximately 10" x 30") (Learn More) Beyond the Blue Horizon, the 1942 Alfred Santell tropical island romantic jungle adventure melodrama (sort of "Tarzan" in reverse, where a girl is shipwrecked on a tropical island, and her parents are killed, so she grows up alone in an island jungle, and she is rescued, and no one believes her, so she leads an expedition back to the island to prove her story) starring Dorothy Lamour, Richard Denning, Jack Haley, Patricia Morison, Walter Abel, Helen Gilbert, Elizabeth Patterson, and Gogo (the chimpanzee!). Note that Dorothy Lamour wore her trademark sarong in this movie! Also note that there is a scene in the movie where Richard Denning lures a rampaging elephant to the edge of a cliff, and then he swings on a vine, and the elephant follows him, and plunges to its death. Apparently, a lot of children were taken to this movie and were traumatized by that scene! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Richardson Studio Important Added Info: Note that for a brief time during World War II (WWII) Australia printed their daybills in a 10" x 30" format (no doubt to conserve on paper!). These "thin" daybills are extremely rare. We are very fortunate to offer a large collection of them on eBay this week (as separate lots)! Condition: fine. poster was folded in half an additional time resulting in an extra horizontal foldline in the top, middle, and bottom but is in otherwise very nice condition Learn More about condition grades
