Apparently, there were still major paper shortages in Italy, and few posters were printed, and most were recycled. This is an extremely rare first release Italian poster from 1947, which we have never auctioned before. Also note that this Italian one-sheet measures 26 3/4" x 38 1/2" [68 x 98 cm]. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tears surrounding the crossfold, with small tears and tiny paper loss on parts of the bottom half of the vertical fold and in the left half of the horizontal fold, with a much lesser amount of wear on the rest of those folds. It had pinholes in the corners. It had some light staining scattered in the right half of the poster, and some tears and small paper loss in the right half of the bottom border, and in the right border. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
