Date Sold 8/31/2021Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Six-Sheet Movie Poster (6sh; measures 65" x 75" [165 x 191 cm]) (Learn More) Will James' Smoky, the 1933 Eugene Forde wild horse romantic cowboy western (based on the novel by Will James) starring Victor Jory, Irene Bentley, Will James (the author of the book as the narrator), Frank Campeau, Hank Mann, and LeRoy Mason NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this six-sheet! Note that this poster was both missing its bottom two sections (with the small credits) and it also has portions trimmed off from the other three sides, and it now measures 65" x 75" [165 x 191 cm]. Also note that the theater that used this poster glued the pieces together before putting them on display (this is typical of many actual theater-used posters in multiple pieces). Apparently, a theater wanted to display this poster, but was missing the bottom part with the small credits. The part they had (which was the top four sections glued together) had the credits for Victor Jory and Irene Bentley printed underneath the title. But they apparently thought it would look better without those credits below the title, so they had someone put red paint over that entire area. Obviously, one could restore this in any of a number of ways, but that will be the decision of the new owner. It is in urgent need of some sort of restoration, so bear that in mind before bidding on this poster, which is virtually surely one of a kind. Condition: poor. The theater that used this poster glued the pieces together before putting them on display (this is typical of many actual theater-used posters in multiple pieces). As described above, part of the bottom of the poster is missing, and some from each of the three other sides. The poster is also fragile and has some tears and tiny paper loss on parts of the folds and the trimming around the edges is uneven. Please bear all of the above in mind before bidding on this incredibly rare poster. Learn More about condition grades
