McLeod romantic singing-and-dancing John Robert Powers fashion model agency musical melodrama ("Hit tunes!"; "The hottest band in the nation!"; "And the world's most beautiful girls!"; "No girls so beautiful! No band so hot! No romance so exciting! No singer so swell!"; "All you've ever dreamed of in one great show... and more!"; "Based on a story by Wm. A. Pierce and Malvin Wald", from the book by John Robert Powers) starring George Murphy, Anne Shirley, Carole Landis, Dennis Day (famous as the youthful singer on TV's and radio's "The Jack Benny Show"; billed as "Introducing the singing star of Jack Benny's Radio Program Dennis Day"), The Powers ("long-stemmed American beauties"), Alan Mowbray (as John Robert Powers), Willie Best, and Benny Goodman and His Orchestra NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that from the 1910s through the 1950s, lobby card sets were sent in brown bags that had the names of the movie and credits printed on the outside. The purpose of the bag was to protect the lobby cards, and they served that purpose well! Since the vast majority of lobby card sets get broken up and sold by the individual card, few of these original printed brown bags survive, except in the cases where someone preserved the entire set with the bag. We don't know if there are "brown bag collectors", but it certainly seems that the printed brown bag from legendary movies would be the most desirable, and ones from lesser movies would have lesser value!
