A rendezvous with romance in glamorous, mysterious Algiers. A drama of the street of a thousand doors, a thousand smiling eyes, a thousand thrills."; based on the novel by Henri La Barthe with "additional dialogue by James M. Cain"; virtually a word-for-word remake of the Jean Gabin French classic, "Pepe Le Moko"; set in the Casbah where a master thief is lured to his doom because of his love for a beautiful woman) starring Charles Boyer (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; "As 'Pepe le Moko.' He ruled the Casbah, every man his enemy - every woman his slave!"), Sigrid Gurie, Hedy Lamarr ("as 'Gaby' - a woman with a past who lived the way men taught her to... Shamelessly!"), Joseph Calleia, Alan Hale Sr., Gene Lockhart (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Madame Nina Koshetz, Johnny Downs, and Stanley Fields NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this was printed by the "other company". This was a company in the Midwest that from roughly 1936 to roughly 1941 printed its own one-sheets and lobby card sets (and a very few inserts and half-sheets) for three major studio movies (Warner Brothers, Paramount and United Artists, but no other studios). The posters and lobby cards are from the original release of the movie, and almost always have completely different artwork from the regular studio release. They never have the name of the releasing studio on the poster or any of the lobby cards. Sometimes, "other company" posters or lobby cards have images that are the equal of those from the regular studio release posters or lobby cards! Condition: good to very good. There are some pairs of staple holes and tears around the edges of the cards. Learn More about condition grades
