Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (measures 11" x 15"; 12 pages) (Learn More) Gorilla at Large, the 1954 Harmon Jones 3-D (3D; 3-Dimension) murder mystery crime circus carnival horror thriller ("The hate-beast who lives to kill is loose!"; "Leonard Goldstein presents Gorilla at Large"; "Get out of his way... before it's too late as he unleashes a terror never known by mortal man before!"; "Written by Leonard Praskins and Barney Slater") starring Cameron Mitchell, Anne Bancroft (in her fifth movie role!), Lee J. Cobb, Raymond Burr, Charlotte Austin, Peter Whitney, Lee Marvin, Warren Stevens, John G. Kellogg, and George Barrows (uncredited as Goliath the Gorilla!). Note that George Barrows had a handful of roles playing gorillas in movies, and he even played the lead character in "Robot Monster". He seems to have become Hollywood's leading "gorilla performer" once the top ones of the 1930s and 1940s (Ray 'Crash' Corrigan, Charles Gemora, Emil Van Horn, and Jack Leonard) quit playing gorillas! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this pressbook is part of an amazing collection of 456 different horror/sci-fi pressbooks (our items #5387 through #5842)! The collector who assembled this collection did so over a span of several decades, and to duplicate it would surely take at least that long, if one started today. But on October 30th, every one of these pressbooks will go to a new owner, as all are being sold with NO reserve. Note that this collection spans the years from 1950 to 1972, and just about every single 1950s and 1960s horror/sci-fi movie is represented here. Also note that we have listed them in DATE order (first by year, and then alphabetically within years). This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire rare pressbooks that almost never are offered for sale! Condition: very good. Note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Since pressbooks were INTENDED to be cut up (the theater owners would cut out the newspaper ads to run in their local papers). It is very difficult to find a pressbook that has NOT been cut, and that ads greatly to their value! some tiny text was marked out directly above the title on the cover; areas of light discoloration in the last two interior pages of the pressbook; minor creases, smudges, and scuffs throughout the pressbook (more so along the spine) Learn More about condition grades
