Musial was a record 24-time All-Star selection (tied with Willie Mays), and is widely considered to be one of the greatest hitters in baseball history. He also compiled 475 home runs during his career, was named the National League's Most Valuable Player (MVP) three times, and won three World Series championship titles. Musial was a first-ballot inductee to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969, and was the longest tenured living Hall of Famer until he passed away in 2013 at the age of 92. Important Added Info: Note that this news photo, which measures 7" x 9" [18 x 23 cm], was taken when the New York Mets held a special night for Stan Musial on August 10, 1962 (it had been scheduled for the day before, but it was rained out, and moved to this day). During the ceremony, 3 year-old Jean Musial, Stan's youngest child, mugged for the camera, as seen in the three images here. Incidentally, since the game had been rained out the day before, the Mets played a double header against the Cardinals, and lost both games. Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
