An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27 1/4" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Killers of the Chaparral, the 1930s wild animal nature documentary ("A Dave Biedermann Production"; "Cunning - Treacherous"; "They Kill To Survive!"). This is a fascinating movie! We have had one poster from it, a one-sheet, which has great art of animals by an artist named "Jack Savage", a name we have never encountered before, and the poster says "Astor Pictures" and "A Dave Biedermann Production". We found a Dave Biedermann who produced cartoons in the 1940s, and that seems likely the same man. Astor Pictures is well known for re-releases of classic movies starting in the late 1930s and continuing into the 1940s, but they did a few original productions, and this might be one of them. We thought they started around 1934, but we found a newspaper story that says that this movie was provided to a theater by Astor Pictures, and that story was dated 1932, so the movie may well be from that date. Is Astor Pictures the first distributor of this movie or did they re-release it? We would need to find any other movie paper from it to answer those questions! If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Artist: Jack Savage Important Added Info: Note that this one-sheet measures 27 1/4" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]. Condition: fair to good. The poster had separation and tears at the crossfolds and a 5" vertical tear in the top center of the poster. It had pinholes in the top corners, with paper loss in the top left blank corner and bottom right blank corner. Someone put paper tape on the back of the above defects, and some of it has dried out and has caused the poster to tear further. There is some bleed-through from the tape, but not a lot. Please look closely at our super-sized image, and consider the cost of restoration before bidding on this really cool poster. Learn More about condition grades
