Sears science fiction (sci-fi) UFO alien thriller ("Calling All Flying Saucers!"; "This is a space message to flying saucers where ever you are! ...we are prepared to resist your attack! ...for the first time our world is united. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good to very good. The poster was "starch backed", which means that it was moistened with a special starch solution, attached to a backing, allowed to dry, and then the poster had touch up while it was backed, and afterward, the backing was removed. This particular poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfold and minor wear on the foldlines. It had some brown stains (some likely caused by brown paper tape on the back, and some likely caused by water stains) scattered in the image (a fairly large one in part of the robot at lower left and some in the rest of the bottom of the image, plus some in the left of the lower right credits box, plus some scattered through the rest of the poster). The poster had brown paper tape on the back of the borders, which had darkened them. A really talented restorer starch backed the poster and then was able to make the above defects and staining almost completely invisible from the front! The poster looks fantastic, and it has had truly minor touch up, and best of all, it still completely looks and feels like an unrestored poster, and I don't know that virtually any collector would realize how much restoration the poster had had, even if they looked at it from very close up!
