Date Sold 2/27/2018Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Desire, the 1936 Frank Borzage romantic jewel thief smuggling melodrama ("Together again for the first time since 'Morocco'"; "From a comedy by Hans Szekely and R.A. Stemmle"; about a beautiful jewel thief in Paris who steals a pearl necklace, and who hides them in the luggage of an American engineer going to Spain, and then she must retrieve them from him, and in doing so, she falls in love with him) starring Marlene Dietrich, Gary Cooper, John Halliday, William Frawley, Ernest Cossart, Akim Tamiroff, Alan Mowbray, and Zeffie Tilbury (who had the part of her life at the end of her career, as Grandma in "The Grapes of Wrath") NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good. The card has light staining and a few pinholes around the edges (with an enlarged pair that affects the first "O" of "COOPER" at top right). There are some light stains and smudges scattered throughout the image, but they are not all that noticeable. There is light staining scattered on the back of the card. There are two faint partial diagonal creases in the upper right and lower left of the card, but they are almost invisible from the front. There is a 1/2" tear near the middle of the left border. There is a small British censor stamp in the bottom left white background area. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back. In spite of the many defects, this rare and wonderful card would still display fairly well, but in the case of this card, I would highly recommend it having professional restoration, because I believe that it would greatly improve the appearance of the card and would likely not require a lot of paint restoration. However, bear the defects in mind (and look at our super-sized images) before placing a bid. Learn More about condition grades
