An Unfolded French Special Poster (measures 10 1/2" x 16" [27 x 41 cm]) (Learn More)

Bal des Quat'z'Arts (literally translates to "Four Arts Ball") was a Parisian annual ball which was held from 1892 to 1966. The event was first organized by Henri Guillaume, Professor of Architecture at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts for students of architecture, painting, sculpture, and engraving (the four "arts" of the title). The event was at times very controversial because of the clothing (or lack thereof) and body paint worn by some female attendees.
Artist: Rabbe R.D.N. (spelling?)
Important Added Info: Note that this small poster is from a ball that was held in 1913. Also note that this poster was created on a fairly heavyweight paper stock. It conceivably could be rolled, but that could certainly damage it, so we will send it to the winning bidder in a flat package. Finally, note that this item contains some nudity, so we have placed a white bar over those areas for those who are bothered by such images. Of course, the actual item does not have the white bars.

UPDATED 12/14/2018: Note that a knowledgeable collector pointed out that the side and top blank white borders have been trimmed from this poster. It also originally featured an invitation at the bottom (measuring approximately 4") which has been removed. This missing invitation section featured only text and was meant to be removed (along a dotted line) and presented to get into the event.

Condition: fair. Approximately 4" has been removed from the bottom of the poster (see the update above for more info), and the blank white borders have been trimmed from the poster. The poster has light staining on the back, but fortunately, because it is on a fairly heavy paper stock, it does not affect the front, which has minor border wear.
