McLeod romantic screwball comedy ("It tops 'Topper' by a hundred howls!"; produced by Hal Roach; virtually an exact copy of "My Man Godfrey", with a gentleman posing as a down-and-out man and taking a job as a butler to a rich society woman!; apparently, audiences did not mind the lack of originality, because the movie was a major box office success!) starring Constance Bennett, Brian Aherne, Alan Mowbray, Billie Burke (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Patsy Kelly, Ann Dvorak, Tom Brown, Bonita Granville, Marjorie Rambeau, Beulah Bondi, Phillip Reed, and Willie Best NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair. The poster had darkened. It had paper loss at some crossfolds and some creases, tears, and paper loss on many parts of some foldlines. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was fairly well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Also, after it was backed, it unfortunately acquired many creases down the right edge, that affected the right edge of the blank border in a few places, and it also caused some slight water staining in some parts of the right border. Finally, the poster was roughly handled, and there is now a partial horizontal crease across the lower part of the image, both in the poster and in the linen.
