An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Walt Disney's Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier, the classic 1955 Norman Foster Walt Disney cowboy western adventure thriller ("...Story of a fabulous fighting man!"; "Now... On the Motion Picture Screen!"; "Color by Technicolor, Wide Screen"; "Adapted from the original 'Disneyland' Television Productions") starring Fess Parker (in the title role as Davy Crockett), Buddy Ebsen, William Bakewell, Basil Ruysdael, Pat Hogan (as Chief Red Stick), Mike Mazurki, and Nick Cravat. Note that this was originally three episodes of the Disneyland TV series (more commonly known as "The Wonderful World of Disney"). A year after the three episodes aired, someone at Disney had the great idea to release the three as a feature film, and it was hugely successful, in spite of the fact that over half of the U.S. had seen the movie for free when it had aired on TV the year before! About the Collection this Item Comes From Note that this item (and 36 others we are auctioning this week, each in its own auction) was consigned to us by a man who purchased the collection of a dedicated collector, who was a major film buff from the 1950s through the 1990s. He would purchase stills on stars he liked, and then he would go to events or collectibles shows (he went to virtually every collectibles show where stars appeared!), and he would get the items autographed, and many of his photos were personalized to him with nice inscriptions, because over time many of the celebrities who regularly attended shows came to be friends with him! Over many years he was able to acquire a large number of signed stills, and his collection was purchased by our consignor. In this set of auctions we are auctioning 37 of his autographed items (and we will auction others in future "all signed" auctions). We feel certain that the autographs on these items are authentic!
