We have only previously auctioned a one-sheet (26 years ago for $1,610) and two window cards (both heavily trimmed), and NO other first release posters until we were consigned this first release insert! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair. The poster had much staining in the top, with small stains and smudges scattered throughout the rest of the poster. It also had pinholes and some paper loss around the edges and some creases and tears near the center of the image, including one going through part of Bogart's face. Overall, the poster was in fair condition prior to linenbacking. Someone linenbacked the poster with no excess and did no restoration. Obviously, a talented restorer could remove the poster from the linen and properly re-back it, but please bear all of the above in mind before bidding on this poster.
